CD Cover Assignment

The Object if this assignment is to design a CD cover for a disk or a collect of songs of our choice.

FRONT

This is a 5inch x 5 inch canvas which is the standard size of a CD case. Below image shows how the layer were organized.

I have used one of my own images as the background, the picture was taken during December 2008 at Marawila, Sri-Lanak. The Image has been used over the background and some effects have been added to the image. An inner glow contain a colour combination of blue, red and yellow is the effect. The vector smart object was created in Adobe Illustrator and was brought over to Adobe Photoshop as CS4 dose not have the option of writing on a path. The rest of the text is typed in Photoshop.The font "Rage Italic" has been used on the curved text while the font "Payprus" was used on the other text.

BACK

Below is the layer organization for back of the CD.

 

On this I have used a simple radial gradient background with the tracks in "Payprus" font.

Animation in Photoshop

This is a animation created using Photoshop CS5. It is a simple animation of a text bouncing around the screen.

The animation is simple. The text moves the colour changes. Below shown is the time line of the animation.

It is as same as animating something in Flash.

Repousse

This blog is on applying an 3D effect to an image. Below is the final version of the effected image.

 

 The text has been copied, inverted and distorted to get the lengthened shadow effect. Also the visibility of the layer has been lowered. 

Also a gradient overlay has been done on the text layer to add an extra effect to it.
